Lot 1. Tuck signed, Die-cut, heart-shaped card, approx. 6x6 inches, a border of forget-me-nots, image of cherub, probably by Frances Brundage, slight creases on left; also larger unsigned heart-shaped valentine with layered lace and scraps, and 1920’s era child’s honey-bee valentine.  3 pieces. 20-30

Lot 2.  Die-cut, embossed cards, border of violets, image of children happily marching, probably by Frances Brundage, approx 7.5x5, dated 1904; another, showing a lovely Victorian woman and pansies. 2 pieces. 20-30

Lot 3. Tuck, signed. Little Dutch girl with blue and white background similar to Delft tiles; 5x8, corners rubbed, album marks on reverse.  25-35

Lot 4.  Nister, Daisy Wheel of Fortune card. Moveable daisy wheel; Cherub on right, pointing his arrow at the messages revealed beneath each petal.  30-50

Lot 5. Unsigned lithographs with embossed border; colorful images of children. One is stained. Set of three.  3.5x5.5.  90-120

Lot 6. Christening memento, German, dated 1834, with its embossed and painted envelope, and wax seal. Adherent on two edges to album page. 80-100

Lot 7. Magical Flowers, rare handmade token of love, removed from an album. Paper flowers, painted leaves; petals unfold to reveal messages of love and affection. 7x8.5, one petal is missing;  circa 1820-40.  150-200

Lot 8. Printed Valentine Verses, circa 1800. Rare example of a portion of a broadside, with verses meant to be cut or copied. 6x9.5; printed in four columns; creased where one column has been folded.   125-175

Lot 9. 1856 Calendar, in German. Early lithography, printed with blue and gold; four cartouches depict the seasons, calendar on the reverse 3x4.5.  Along with Prang card, #5 in auction 2009-1.  50-75  

Lot 10. Large fold-down, die-cut, chromolithographed card, red honeycomb tissue decoration. A girl is standing among flowers and a Cupid-bedecked arch of forget-me-nots; loss to part of one wing. Germany, c.1890 4.5x8.5    40-60

Lot 11. Unrequited Love, or Despondent Lover Series, Quarto, embossed border, aquatint central image of a woman in red dress with lace portrait collar, letter in hand,  from a series of fourteen,  English, circa 1840.  140-160

Lot 12. Early examples of letter paper, two sheets, both approx. 5x8+, one has delicately embossed edge with hand-painted rose, the other with embossed, painted, and gilded design of bird, grapes, flowers. Circa 1820-40.  80-100

Lot 13. Garden diorama, die-cut, opens out to be a beautiful 3-D scene, a young couple seemingly harvesting a paper valentine! Rose trellis, lovebirds, bouquets, and a wheelbarrow full of roses. 5.5x9.5 closed.  Stamped, “Made in Germany”, To Clarence from his second grade teacher. 35-50

Lot 14. Group of five small Valentines, blanks decorated with collages of applied lace and scraps, Approx. 3x4; one Whitney, (W ½), others probably unsigned McLoughlin blanks.  40-75

Lot 15. Whitney Valentines. Three nice examples with gilded lace, scraps: one with pink and blue border, and proposal poem affixed inside; second is blue and gold with image of young girl, third is item 1 from Auction 2009-1.  60-75

Lot 16. Three Postcard Valentines, Leap Year, 1907, image of man in chair, thinking of a woman; “A St. Valentine Pipe Dream” showing image of woman in smoke from a pipe; heart “invitation” to romance.    20-30

Lot 17. Lithograph, hand-colored, Cherub standing before a church, foliate border and delicate poem, requests a Valentine, seems like a proposal! 4.5x7, 1840s 30-40

Lot 18. Unsigned Victorian. Layered blank, hinged, with lace, and scrap of a child. Back damaged from album removal. 4x5.5.  10-20

Lot 19. Unsigned Victorian. Layered blank, hinged lace, scraps. Signed “From Dora”, embossed envelope: “To Teacher”. 5x6.5   20-25  

Lot 20. Tuck postcard, 1907, Garden Patch Series No. 2, Vegetable person -- with lettuce head. Signed, E. Curtis; 3.5x5.5, pencil address. 20-30
